Welcome to The Thinking and Learning Lab!

The Thinking and Learning Lab studies cognitive development, with a primary focus on the development of mathematical knowledge. In our studies, we investigate how children think, learn, and solve numerical problems as well as which cognitive processes promote or impede children’s learning. Through this work, we seek to learn how to structure activities and materials to facilitate children’s learning of numerical information.

Most studies provide children with a unique opportunity to practice math one-on-one with a trained tutor from Boston College free of charge to all. Discover how to participate.
